Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions Page!
I keep seeing OE – LE – FA and GL – What are they?
These are quick reference codes to make it easy on the both of us when navigating the website.
- OE – stands for Open Editon Prints
- OE – stands for Open Editon Prints
- GL – means Printed on a ‘Glossy Type’ of paper i.e. Metallic, Pearl, Etc.
- FA – smeans Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper
These items are explained below.
What is an Open Editon (OE) ?
An Open Edition (OE) means that I have the ability to make whatever sizes of an image that I want to make or any type of quantity that might be needed. For example, if you came to me and said, “Cookie, I need 500, 4×6 in prints in the form of an invitation card – of this OE image. Can you do it for me?’ Sure, let’s talk some more 🙂
What is a Limited Edition (LE) ?
A Limited Edition (LE) means that the image is limited to a specific number of copies.
For example, I could take a picture of a coffee cup. I then print the image of the coffee cup into:
- 15 (Quantity) – 8 x 10 inch size
- 15 (Quantity) – 16 x 20 inch size
- 1 (Quantity) – 10 foot x 20 foot size < that’s a LOT of coffee!
So, based on size, the quantity is set to what amount I want to set it to and then I don’t make any more after those items are sold.
Now, to make sure you are getting & retaining value form one of my LE Prints, I usually limit my editions to 15 and they are usually are of only one size. The size range of my limted editon prints range from:
- 13.5 x 22 Inches and up to 17 x 22 Inches
or
- 24 x 36 inches
Then on most occasions, you will see that my editions for sale will start at 4 of 15. What happened to numbers 1-3? They are reserved as follows:
- Print # 1 – Reserved For The Work of God – I donate these items to charities.
- Print # 2 – Reserved For Museums and Art galleries
- Print # 3 – Reserved For myself
What is Fine Art Paper (FA)?
Want something that will outlive you? And your children? What about their grandchildren?
Yep, that’s right, these prints under – the right conditions – could last you for about two hundred years or more.
I use Hahnemühle Fine Art Paper – the’ve only being making paper since 1584 so I think they know something about it 🙂

What is High Gloss Paper (GL)?
High gloss paper is a type of paper made to provide vibrant, rich color reproduction, as well as very crisp resolution..
It makes colours pop and metallics shine but it can be difficult in some lighting conditions because it can reflect light and cause glare.
Copyright
I retain the copyright on all of my images.
If you purchase an image, you are purchasing that image on whatever the medium it is printed on.
IT DOES NOT PERMIT YOU to take that image and use it for something else, to reproduce it in any fashion, or, use it (modify it) in the creation of other items i.e. A.I. (Artificial Intellegence) generated works or adding stuff of your own into the image and then calling that image your own. Speaking of A.I. – A.I. programs are nott allowed to to use my artwork for their own training purposes to make them smarter aka. ‘machine learning’ without proper compensation to yours truly, the artist who made the work.
This is done for two reasons. Reason One – it preserves my livelihood and, Reason Two – it preserves the value of the print that you have purchased.
